Behaviorism is categorized into two conditioning. There is Operant Conditioning which is a way of learning through a reward or punishment. Then, there is Classical Conditioning which you learn after so many times of something being repetitive and you just learn from trial and error. The reason I picked this picture was that my parents use to discipline me whenever I did something that they believed was inappropriate or not a good habit to keep. Some examples of that would be when I would talk back to them, through a fit, complain about something, or not eat anything that they made because I was a picky eater growing up. However, the more I would do these actions and they would discipline me. I did eventually learn that these are not good habits and I began to grow out of them and as an older teenager, I now understand why they did that. At the time I thought they were being mean and hated me but they just wanted to raise a child that knew how to act right and be respectful. I also have classical conditioning added because over time when I would do certain actions such as brush my teeth, finish my food, and do my homework after school. I would pick up good habits and eventually I learned there are good rewards to each of these and I eventually came to my senses to actually do the work. I believe the punishment I was given for some of my actions as a child helped shaped me into being a really good student to my teachers, and coaches. I listen and sometimes I have my fallout but that is just something I have to deal with while growing up. It is about learning from your mistakes and I believe what my parents did was right because it helped shape me into a respectful and open-minded person when it comes to myself and others around me.
